The Traditional Owners of the area, the Mutthi Mutthi, Barkindji and Ngiyampaa people, manage the Willandra in partnership with landholders and the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.

All our guides have extensive tour-guiding experience, as well as many years work in the Willandra on numerous cultural and scientific projects.

Through the knowledge, hospitality and experience of the Traditional Owners, My Country Enterprises provides the adventurous traveller with a unique insight into this beautiful landscape.

Gary Pappin

Gary is a Mutthi Mutthi Traditional Owner and is the Director of My Country Enterprises. His experience combines traditional knowledge and scientific information gained from many years in the Willandra. He was a founding member of the Willandra Lakes World Heritage Area Three Traditional Tribal Groups Elders' Council and is currently its Public Officer.

Junette Mitchell

Junette is a senior woman of the Pooncarie Barkindji and has a long involvement in the management of the World Heritage Area. She is a spokesperson for her people and is a representative on the Elders' Council. Junette is a fluent Barkindji speaker and has a wealth of knowledge about her connection to country, including cultural stories, bush foods and medicines, tracking, and other bush skills.

Mary Pappin

Mary is a senior Mutthi Mutthi woman who has been involved in the management of the World Heritage Area since its conception. She has represented the Elders' Council at local, national and international levels and is an advocate for the interpretation of, and education about, the cultural heritage of her people. She is an experienced guide having taken tours in the Willandra for the past ten years.
