Day 2: After breakfast at the Lodge, set out on your first days walk through undulating mallee and spinifex country. Learn some bush skills as you go, and arrive at the Willandra bush camp with a spectacular view over Lake Mungo. Greeted with afternoon tea, settle in to your camp accommodation, explore the lake bed, or relax by the fire while we prepare your evening meal.

Day 3: Greet the desert sunrise over the lake. After breakfast, a Welcome Ceremony followed by a full day walk (8km) with focus on cultural interpretation. Lunchbreak with a view of the 36km Mungo Lunette as it curves to the west. View ancient cultural sites, and learn why this area is so important to us and why it was placed on the World Heritage list for its unique cultural and natural values. Arrive at our bush camp in the afternoon. Relax at the camp and enjoy afternoon tea while you view the sunset on the dunes. Evening meal around the camp fire with an opportunity to venture out on to the dunes at night time and spot some nocturnal animals.

Day 4: a morning to relax, take photos, read books and chat with your guides. Perhaps learn some bush cooking skills such as making damper. After an early lunch, a half day walk north including the Mungo lunette, tea break with panoramic views, and then return through the pinnacles as they change colour in the sunset. Evening meal from the bush kitchen.

Day 5: After breakfast, explore the mallee and spinifex country to the east - a medium length walk including the old Mungo lunette and the remains of Joulni homestead where you will be picked up by bus and return to Mungo Lodge for lunch and return to Mildura.
